From their humble beginnings as an acoustic folk duo, Little Boxer has grown and evolved over the years like few other bands have. Driven by Zack’s thoughtful songwriting, Liams melodic guitar parts, Dave’s metronome like timing on drums, and Juan’s funky bass, the band is a unique collective of individuals that come together to form a truly special sound.
After releasing four self-produced and self-released EPs in 2016 and two double sided singles in 2017, Little Boxer learned from their experiences and went to work on a new batch of songs. Drawing inspiration from artists like Bruce Springsteen, The Killers, LCD Soundsystem, and The War on Drugs, Little Boxer is an eclectic mixture of alt-pop music with a nostalgic twist.
Playing music isn’t enough for these Toronto musicians, they believe in their music having a message behind it. With mental health being an issue close to the bands heart, the band uses their new music as a stage to promote mental health awareness, crafting stories of real people as they use their music and lyrics as a vehicle for self reflection.
Currently Little Boxer is in the studio with renowned Canadian producer Jon Drew (Arkells, July Talk, Metz, Tokyo Police Club). Their first professionally produced EP is expected out summer 2019 with the band's first single “Silent Treatment” arriving in March of 2019.
